Saturday, 24th July – Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives announced a string of easements for travelers opting for local tourism options – mainly guesthouses.
According to HPA, tourists who have received full dosage of WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccination will have no further obstacles while checking in to guesthouses across local islands in Maldives, provided they have completed 14 days post administration of the second vaccine dose.
Moreover, children who accompany guests who are under the approved vaccination age will be able to check-in to local guesthouses without any further prerequisites.
Tourists who are flying in for local guesthouses must have in their possession a negative PCR test that does not exceed 72 hours prior to their arrival in Maldives. They must also provide a negative PCR test while checking out from their lodgings before departure.
Furthermore, guests without two successful Covid-19 vaccine doses, will be able to check-in to guesthouses of local islands where 60% of the local population have received two full doses of the vaccine.
Additionally, tourists checking-in to properties without two full doses must ensure booking guesthouses where 95% of the staff providing services, have received two full doses.
