    Maldives tourist arrival total reaches over 923K

    Maldives attracts more than 920K tourists so far in 2021

    The total tourist arrivals to Maldives as of 13th October has reached 923,146 according to the Ministry of Tourism.

    Meanwhile the total tourist arrivals from 01st until 13th of October stood at 52,284 which is a 585.8% improvement from the same period in 2020; where the tourist arrivals stood at just 7,624.

    However, the tourist arrivals during the review period is still 11.0% below the arrival total during the same period in 2019, where the it stood at 58,738.

    Indian continues to maintain top source market position to the Maldives with a total of 211,062 tourist arrivals so far to the Maldives; which is 23.0% of the total tourist arrivals to the country. Russia remains in the second position with a total of 177,321 tourist arrivals which is 19.3% of the total tourists visiting Maldives so far.

    Other top source markets include Germany with an arrival total of 60,463 (6.6%), USA with an arrival total of 37,463 (4.1%) and Saudi Arabia with an arrival total of 31,433 (3.4%).
