    Tourist arrivals to Maldives exceeds one-million mark

    Tourist arrivals to Maldives exceed one-million arrival mark

    According to Ministry of Tourism, the total tourist arrivals to Maldives as of 10th November 2021 has exceeded the one million mark.

    Moreover, the state body confirms that the total arrival figure by the review date reached 1,060,004. Meanwhile, tourist arrivals from 01st up to 10th November stood at 47,076 which is a 3.0% improvement from the corresponding period in 2019 where the arrival count stood at 45,724.

    Furthermore, the arrival count from 01st to 10th November has also observed a 363.6% increment when compared with the same period in 2020 where the arrival total reached only 10,154.

    The daily arrival average to Maldives in November so far stands at 4,708 while the average duration of stay has increased to 8.5-days from 8.3-days in October 2021.

    As for tourist source markets, India maintains top spot with an arrival total of 238,290 so far which is 22.5% of the total tourist arrivals to Maldives. Russia rests at second spot with an arrival total of 194,527 so far which is 18.4% of the total arrivals.

    Moreover, Germany ranked third with an arrival total of 74,431 so far which is 7.0% of the total arrivals while USA landed fourth spot with an arrival count of 43,093 which is 4.1% of the total arrivals. In addition to this, United Kingdom has replaced Saudi Arabia for the fifth spot with an arrival total of 35,201 which is 3.3% of the total arrivals to Maldives.
