    MTCC reports updates on multiple development projects

    MTCC reports updates on Lhaimagu harbor development and Hoarafushi road development projects

    Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) reports the harbor development project at Sh. Lhaimagu is currently underway, with overall 62% project completion.

    Moreover, the road development project in HA. Hoarafushi is also well underway, with overall 57% project completion.

    Under the harbor development project, MTCC reports completing quay wall construction, while the breakwater construction is currently in progress. MTCC also confirms the harbor pavement works, harbor basin dredging works are at ongoing capacity.

    Under the road development project, the contractor reports work on installation of electrical junction box reached 82% completion, while it is currently going through sub-base works, as well as asphalt-laying and curb stone installation works.

    Lhaimagu harbor development project consists;

    • Dredging and excavation operations: 31,000 cubic meters
    • Breakwater construction: 350 meters
    • Quay wall: 276 meters
    • Revetment: 500 meters
    • Pavement installation: 1,380 square-meters
    • Installation of navigation and street lights

    MTCC reports the value of the project is MVR56.3 million.

    The scope of Hoarafushi road development project consists of;

    • Construction of 11 roads: 5.3 kilometers in length
    • Carriageway construction: 25,909 square-meters
    • Pavement construction: 11,114 square-meters
    • Installation of storm-water infiltration system, street lights and road markings

    The road development project is valued at MVR71.9 million.
