    Tourist arrivals to Maldives exceed 1.31m by late October

    Tourist arrivals to Maldives exceed 1.31 million by late October 2022

    Tourist arrivals to Maldives exceed 1.31 million as of 26th October 2022. According to Ministry of Tourism, tourist arrivals by the review date reached a total of 1,317,573.

    This is a 33.4% increment in annual terms compared to the same period in 2021, during which arrivals stood at 988,013. However, it is still 3.9% below pre-pandemic levels of the same period in 2019, during which arrivals stood at 1,371,103.

    Tourist arrivals from 01st to 26th October, exclusively, reached 126,953. This is an 8.4% increment from the same period last year, during which arrivals stood at 117,151. Moreover, it is a 6.3% improvement compared to the same period in 2019, during which arrivals stood at 119,413.

    The daily average arrival in annual terms, is currently at 4,407. Meanwhile, the daily arrival average from 01st to 26th October exclusively is at 4,883. Average duration of stay in annual terms is at 8.1 days, and for the period 01st to 26th October, it is at 7.7 days.
