The second round of political consultations between Maldives and Georgia concluded in Tbilisi on Friday, 23rd December.
The political consultation provided a platform between the two countries to discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of mutual importance. The countries held the found round of political consultation in Maldives on 11th December 2019.
During Friday’s session, both governments explored ways to expand bilateral relations further and enhance cooperation between a multitude of areas such as trade, tourism, health, education, environment and climate change. The discussions also focused on enhancing economic cooperation including increasing connectivity and boosting trade ties between Maldives and Georgia.
Moreover, the countries discussed international issues of mutual interest while reaffirming their commitment towards further strengthening cooperation in the multilateral arena.
The second round of political consultation between Maldives and Georgia was co-chaired by Minister of State for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Deputy Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili.
