    Tourist arrivals exceed above 611k

    Tourist arrivals to the Maldives exceed over 611,000 so far in 2023

    Tourist arrivals to the Maldives on a year-to-date basis has reached a total of 611,570 as of 16th April 2023, reported the Ministry of Tourism.

    According to the ministry’s recent statistics, tourist arrivals in annual terms has observed a 19.1% increment compared to the corresponding period in 2022 during which arrivals stood at 513,412.

    Tourist arrivals reached a total of 172,499 in January; a 30.9% increment compared to the same month last year, in February the arrivals stood at 177,915; a 19.4% increment from February 2022, and in March total arrivals reached 173,514; a 15.1% increment.

    Meanwhile, tourist arrivals from 01st to 16th April stood at 87,642 which is a mild 7.0% increment from the same period last year.

    The Maldives tourism industry currently has 170 resorts, 13 hotels, 895 guesthouses, and 153 safari vessels and liveaboards at operational capacity. The combined bed capacity of all the operational tourist properties add up to over 60,000.
