Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the decision to host a national-scale expo on promoting the country’s productivity, commerce, and avenues of growth for local ventures.
President made the announcement in reference to the paper submitted by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed during Sunday’s cabinet meeting at the President’s Office.
Dubbed’ “Dhiveheengee Ufehdhuntherikamuge Maurazu” (Maldivian Productivity Expo), has been announced for May 2025.
“To ensure a competitive environment, the expo will facilitate participation of businesses from various sectors which would include Creative Economic District, Digital and Innovative District, Entertainment District, and Market Place Districit,” the President’s Office statement read.
Business Center Corporation (BCC) will be organizing and managing the event.
Besides this, key decisions have been made by the President with the ministers’ counsel on ensuring sustainability of the expo as an annual event.
