Mr. Jose Enrique, the first brand ambassador of the Maldives Border Miles visits the island nation for the promotional purposes of the Border Miles program.
Moreover, this marks his very first trip to the Maldives since his appointment as the brand ambassador of the program in September 2021.
At the Velana International Airport, Mr. Enrique was welcomed by the Executive Director of Ministry of Tourism Mr. Thoyyib Shaheem, Chief Immigration Officer of Maldives Immigration Ms. Hawwa Liufa, General Manager of Corporate Affairs of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Mr. Hassan Areef and Head of Media and Public Relations of Maldives Immigration Mr. Mifthah Mohamed.
Additionally, Director of Sales and Marketing of W Maldives Mr. Mohamed Nuas had also joined the welcoming team to greet Mr. Enrique.
The brand ambassador of Maldives Border Miles was welcomed with a traditional Maldivian drum-fare (Boduberu) and was presented with souvenirs from the invitees.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Mr. Enrique will be working together with the Maldives Border Miles team to share his experience in the island nation as well as share the benefits of being a member of the Border Miles program.
According to Mr. Enrique, Maldives is among his favorite holiday destinations while he described the country as “Paradise on Earth.”
Maldives Border Miles is the world’s first ever destination loyalty program for tourists with members of the program standing to earn points during their visits to the country. The points are awarded based on the duration of the guest stay, visits to celebrate special occasions, visits to celebrate local occasions as well as the frequency of visits among other aspects.
Moreover, the rewards, services and benefits for the members are based on their tier-status, which is achieved by earning a specific amount of points. The lowest tier Aida (Bronze) is achieved with 500 points, Antara (Silver Tier) achieved with 2,000 points and Abaarana (Gold Tier) achieved with 4,000 points.
