Dusit Thani Maldives, a luxury Thai-inspired resort situated on Mudhdhoo Island in Baa atoll, has appointed British chef Paul Elliot King as the hotel’s newest Executive Chef.
Moreover, the resort affirms that Mr. King has been actively in the culinary industry for more than 30 years, with a rich portfolio originating from United Kingdom and leading all the way to Asia.
Mr. King started his illustrious career in the late 1980s in London, where he continued to work in iconic landmarks of the era such as The Savoy and The Dorchester.
Furthermore, his gastronomic adventures outside of homeland began with stints as Executive Sous Chef at Hilton hotels in both Vietnam as well as the Maldives. From 2013 onward, Mr. King lead the culinary operations in Jumeirah Vittaveli after which he found a home in Kuredu Island Resort and Spa where he along with taking the mantle of Executive Chef was also the HACCP Chairman.
Back in 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic Mr. King once again stepped back to work in homeland, working in an executive role at J Sainsburys Plc, the second largest chain of supermarkets in United Kingdom.
“We are delighted to welcome Chef Paul to lead our talented culinary team and help to elevate our already high standards by creating exciting new culinary experiences for our discerning guests and customers,” commented Thomas Weber, the General Manager of Dusit Thani Maldives.
