Prices of fish have significantly plunged in the Maldivian market, according to local reports.
On Monday, 04th April, it was reported that skipjack tuna are currently sold around MVR40 to MVR45 per kilogram, whereas it was sold around MVR60 or more per kilogram for the past two days.
In addition to this, yellowfin tuna prices have gone down across local market as well with prices slipping to MVR45 per kilogram whereas, it was sold between MVR65 to MVR80 kilograms earlier.
The drop in prices of fish, was not exclusive to ocean fish but extended to reef fish as well. As such, sailfish fillet were sold at MVR20 while red snappers are currently at MVR100 per fish and groupers are sold for MVR250 per fish.
