{"id":15082,"date":"2025-04-08T18:43:32","date_gmt":"2025-04-08T18:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=15082"},"modified":"2025-04-08T18:43:32","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T18:43:32","slug":"govt-signs-with-rdc-to-develop-addu-link-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=15082","title":{"rendered":"Govt signs with RDC to develop Addu Link Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Maldives government on Tuesday, has awarded the design and build of Addu Link Road project to Road Development Corporation (RDC).<\/p>\n<p>Besides the design and build of the link road, RDC has been tasked with establishing drainage systems on the structure.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement was signed in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure on Tuesday morning between the Minister Dr. Abdulla Muththalib and DC Managing Director Ali Zuhair.<\/p>\n<p>The project costs MVR 829.9 million while RDC has been conditioned to complete the project within three years and nine months.<\/p>\n<p>Scope of the project includes modernizing the link road and drawing asphalt on a length of 67.58 kilometers of CTB roads, install drainage systems in Feydhoo, and develop road pavements.<\/p>\n<p>Additional project particulars include installation of road indicators and sign boards.<\/p>\n<p>The link road that connected Hithadhoo with Maradhoo, Maradhoo-Feydhoo, Feydhoo and Gan began back in 2001 during the administration of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, and was completed and put to use in 2003.
