Addressing a gathering of more than 180 participants, including representatives from anti-corruption organisations of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member nations, the Vice President highlighted the significance of this year\u2019s forum theme: \u201cStrengthening Integrity and Combating Corruption in the Tourism Sector.\u201d<\/em> He described it as both timely and highly relevant.<\/p>\n He stressed that integrity and ethical tourism play a crucial role in fostering investor confidence and community trust. \u201cTransparency and accountability are essential for sustainability, strengthening global reputation, and fostering long-term growth\u2014especially in maintaining the Maldives\u2019 status as a premier tourism destination,\u201d the Vice President said.<\/p>\n Focusing on the importance of collaborative efforts, he acknowledged the key roles played by governments, the private sector, civil society, and international organisations.
