Naalaafushi, Meemu Atoll \u2013 President Dr Mohamed Muizzu held a meeting with the Naalaafushi Island Council, Women\u2019s Development Committee (WDC), and local institution heads to discuss the island\u2019s most pressing development concerns during his ongoing visit to the atoll.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place at the Secretariat of the Meemu Atoll Council, in conjunction with the President\u2019s visit to inaugurate Muli Airport.<\/p>\n
Key issues raised by community representatives included the island\u2019s inadequate water and sewerage infrastructure and the frequent power supply disruptions affecting daily life. Participants emphasized the urgency of resolving these issues to improve living conditions on the island.<\/p>\n
Council members also welcomed the President\u2019s remarks on the proposed causeway linking Muli and Naalaafushi. They expressed optimism that the project would spur economic growth and enable the introduction of new services, including ATM facilities and improved policing.<\/p>\n
Community leaders extended their appreciation to President Muizzu for his continued commitment to national development efforts. The President, in turn, assured attendees that the concerns raised would be addressed.
