Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) data reveals the state earned MVR 2.63 billion in June 2025, a 27.0% increase compared to the same month in 2024.<\/p>\n

According to MIRA, the total revenue collected in June this year included USD 116.73 million.<\/p>\n

Total revenue in the review month increased mainly due to higher collections of TGST, Green Tax, and land acquisition and conversion fee. Tourist arrivals in May 2025 rose by 13.1% compared to the same month last year, which boosted collections of TGST, Green Tax, and airport taxes and fees.<\/p>\n

The revenue collected in June this year was also 10.4% more than initial projections, which was due to increased Bank Profit Tax and TGST collections drive by higher-than-expected tourist arrivals.<\/p>\n

Additionally, MIRA’s stringent measures in debt recovery – including stronger efforts to collect outstanding dues – resulted recovery 16.7% of the monthly revenue.<\/p>\n
