From <strong data-start=\"603\" data-end=\"625\">1 to 16 July alone<\/strong>, the Maldives welcomed <strong data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"668\">94,132 visitors<\/strong>, representing a <strong data-start=\"685\" data-end=\"716\">15.3% year-on-year increase<\/strong> for the first half of the month. This translates to an average of <strong data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"807\">5,883 daily arrivals<\/strong>, a sharp rise from the daily average of approximately 4,000 seen in May and June.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"1104\"><strong data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"900\">China<\/strong> continues to lead the source markets, contributing <strong data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"972\">165,134 tourists<\/strong> so far this year. <strong data-start=\"991\" data-end=\"1001\">Russia<\/strong> follows with <strong data-start=\"1015\" data-end=\"1035\">140,298 arrivals<\/strong>, while the <strong data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1065\">United Kingdom<\/strong> ranks third with <strong data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1103\">115,133 visitors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1106\" data-end=\"1351\">Accommodation preferences show that <strong data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1175\">resorts remain the top choice<\/strong>, hosting <strong data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1194\">72.8%<\/strong> of total visitors. <strong data-start=\"1214\" data-end=\"1229\">Guesthouses<\/strong> accounted for <strong data-start=\"1244\" data-end=\"1253\">22.2%<\/strong>, reflecting strong interest in local island stays, while <strong data-start=\"1311\" data-end=\"1321\">hotels<\/strong> made up <strong data-start=\"1330\" data-end=\"1338\">2.7%<\/strong> of bookings.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1353\" data-end=\"1760\">Looking ahead, the Ministry has reaffirmed its ambitious target of <strong data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1469\">attracting 2.3 million international visitors<\/strong> by the end of the year.
