During the session, Council members highlighted several critical concerns, including significant delays in the construction of the new Landhoo School building. They cited growing space constraints and the urgent need for additional classrooms to accommodate students. Concerns were also raised about the long-pending construction of the island\u2019s ice plant and the absence of proper sports facilities for the youth.<\/p>\n
The Council members expressed their appreciation for the government\u2019s recent extension of services at the local health centre, which now operates 24 hours, and welcomed recent adjustments to the academic calendar. They also stressed the need to establish a designated boat docking area and to take action against ongoing coastal erosion threatening parts of the island. Additionally, the Council voiced hope for the development of a dedicated building to support local police services.<\/p>\n
President Muizzu responded by assuring that the relevant government ministries would assess the issues raised and work toward appropriate solutions. He also shared updates on ongoing government-led projects, with further details provided by cabinet ministers and heads of state-owned enterprises.<\/p>\n
