The figures confirm that the annual Zakat-al-Mal collection had seen an average of over MVR 90 million each year, from 2021 to 2025.<\/p>\n<h2>Zakat-al-Mal Collection | 2021 &#8211; 2025:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>2021: MVR 91.4 million<\/li>\n<li>2022: MVR 92.7 million<\/li>\n<li>2023: MVR 90.2 million<\/li>\n<li>2024: MVR 102.3 million<\/li>\n<li>2025: MVR 107.2 million<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Maldives Zakat House had revised the &#8216;nisab&#8217; for Zakat-al-Mal on December 21, last year. The &#8216;nisab&#8217; was set at a fixed mandatory amount of MVR 19.527.90 which is an increase of MVR 8,335.95 from the &#8216;nisab&#8217; of MVR 11,191.95 five months back.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Nisab&#8217; in Zakat is the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim is required to possess for a full lunar year to become obligated to pay Zakat. The &#8216;nisab&#8217; in other words, is a financial threshold for the obligatory charity.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, this is the highest &#8216;nisab&#8217; limit set by the Maldivian government, which is set at value of silver.<\/p>\n<p>The Maldives government implemented a Zakat Act ,that legally mandates all eligible Maldivians to pay Zakat, this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since the state began collecting Zakat-al-Mal, the highest Zakat collection was made last year according to Maldives Zakat House.
