MTCC has announced the closure of segments two through five of Boduthakurufaanu Magu along Male’ northern waterfront, as physical construction work on the road’s widening and redevelopment project moves into its next phase.<\/p>\n
The stretch between the Henveiru Ferry Terminal and Fishermen’s Park is already closed for sheet piling work. Starting tomorrow, closures will extend to the segment between the Henveiru Ferry Terminal and Izzudheen Jetty to allow fencing operations to begin.<\/p>\n
MTCC has given the public a 24-hour window to remove vehicles, advertisement boards, and other items from affected zones. All clearance must be completed by 09:00hrs on March 23, Monday. After the deadline, MTCC will remove remaining vehicles in coordination with the Maldives Police Service.<\/p>\n
The project’s first phase, covering the stretch from North Harbor to Republic Square, has been completed and opened to the public. MTCC reports that the widened road has already measurably reduced traffic congestion in the area, offering an early indication of the project’s broader urban mobility benefits.<\/p>\n
The Boduthakurufaanu Magu redevelopment is a state-funded initiative valued at MVR 144 million. The project involves full asphalt paving and an upgrade of the corridor to modern road standards. It is scheduled for completion within 455 days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
