Monday, 09th August – Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Mr. Suhail Ahmed confirms on additional land reclamation under the Thilafushi Masterplan project.<\/p>\n
As such, as per HDC front-man the project will now entail an additional 130 hectares of land reclamation under scope of work.<\/p>\n
The news was confirmed by Mr. Ahmed during an interview to RaajjTV, a local news broadcaster following the merger between Greater Male’ Industrial Zone Limited (GMIZ) and Housing Development Corporation.<\/p>\n
With the merger, HDC will be taking on the managerial responsibilities previously held by GMIZ.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Mr. Ahmed had confirmed on the masterplan coming full-circle with the latest revelation. Meanwhile, under the project a total of 110 hectares of land have already been reclaimed.<\/p>\n
The contractors are expected to commence reclamation of 30 hectares of land under the newly added limit, which will be completed within six months and will be used for industrial work. Moreover, the remaining 100 hectares of land is expected to be completed within one and a half years.<\/p>\n
