{"id":2250,"date":"2021-10-05T12:10:32","date_gmt":"2021-10-05T07:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=2250"},"modified":"2021-10-05T12:10:32","modified_gmt":"2021-10-05T07:10:32","slug":"cmda-hosts-2021-world-investor-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=2250","title":{"rendered":"CMDA hosts 2021 World Investor Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) will carry out awareness activities during the first week of October to celebrate the &#8216;World Investor Week.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The World Investor Week has been celebrated since 2017 by the International Organization of Securities Commission, in order to raise awareness on saving, investment and the protection of the rights of investors.<\/p>\n<p>CMDA held a ceremony to launch the &#8216;World Investor Week&#8217; activities, with the authority&#8217;s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mohamed Hussain Manik gracing it as the chief guest.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, several local financial institutions will be participating in the World Investor Week which includes Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO), Maldives Stock Exchange (MSE), SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) and the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, CMDA reports that its focus will be on raising awareness on financial scams and frauds.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it was reported in 2020 that several individuals experienced and became victims of a large number of financial scams since transactions shifted from manual to digital owing to the Covid-19 pandemic restricted in-person contact.<\/p>\n<p>The authority will carry out an awareness program targeted to school students and teachers, in which information will be given on saving and investments.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this, the authority will host a quiz competition for a week through Facebook to raise awareness about capital market and financial literacy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) will carry out awareness activities during the first week of October to celebrate the &#8216;World Investor Week.&#8217; The World Investor Week has been celebrated since 2017 by the International Organization of Securities Commission, in order to raise awareness on saving, investment and the protection of the rights of investors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":2251,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2423,2424],"tags":[297,344,656,2364],"class_list":{"0":"post-2250","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-business","8":"category-finance","9":"tag-capital-market-development-authority","10":"tag-cmda","11":"tag-finance-industry","12":"tag-world-investor-week"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.0 -
