{"id":2685,"date":"2022-01-04T13:23:10","date_gmt":"2022-01-04T08:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=2685"},"modified":"2022-01-04T13:23:10","modified_gmt":"2022-01-04T08:23:10","slug":"sto-signs-mou-with-youth-ministry-to-initiate-apprenticeship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=2685","title":{"rendered":"STO signs MoU with Youth Ministry to initiate apprenticeship program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>State Trading Organization (STO) signs a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment to initiate a new apprenticeship program.<\/p>\n<p>The signing ceremony took place on 04th January 2022, Tuesday while the ministry&#8217;s State Minister Mr. Hussain Ismail, who officiated the signing ceremony attended the event alongside the ministry&#8217;s Deputy State Minister Mr. Mohamed Nasih.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Ms. Mariyam Nuzla, General Manager, People&#8217;s Operations Department of STO had attended the signing on behalf of the state-owned enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>The arrangement between the entities aim to ensure provision of apprenticeship and guidance to newcomers under the supervision of experts and academics &#8211; while the program is operated at a national scale.<\/p>\n<p>STO confirms that participation window is open for 26 student slots under six different professional fields. Moreover, the apprenticeship program will run for a duration of six months while the participants are expected to complete 800 hours of training within the duration.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, participants upon successful completion of the program will receive accredited certificates with a Level 3 classification of MNQF.<\/p>\n<p>It was also reported that the training program will adhere to the &#8220;National Competency Standards&#8221; developed by Maldives National Skills Development Authority (MNSDA).<\/p>\n<p>STO will be disbursing relevant and appropriate allowances to the participants of the program.
