State Trading Organization (STO) has supplied first batch of concrete required for the test piling of the Thilamale’ bridge.<\/p>\n
The large-scale infrastructure development project aims to connect the islands of Vilimale’ and Gulhifalhu with Maldives capital Male’ City.<\/p>\n
Moreover, this project is currently regarded as the largest urban development project ever executed in the Maldives, previously held by the Sinamale’ Bridge project, which aims to provide easier transportation between the three islands.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the successful conclusion of the Thilamale’ Bridge project will mean that a total of five islands in the Greater Male’ Region will become interconnected via bridges and causeways. The islands being; Gulhifalhu, Vilimale’, Male’ City, Hulhule’ and Hulhumale’.<\/p>\n
Earlier, STO signed on the contractual agreement with AFCONS Infrastructure, the contractor of the bridge development project, to supply concrete required for the construction of the structures.<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, STO will reportedly supply a total of 7,500 cubic meters of ready-mix concrete to AFCONS.<\/p>\n
Addressing the commencement of STO’s partnership with AFCONS, the Managing Director and CEO Mr. Hussain Amru expressed the company was honored to be a part of the large-scale urban development project.<\/p>\n
Moreover, with the commencement of the project, STO MD had expressed gratitude to the Indian government. India’s EXIM Bank had provided a heavy grant facility to the Maldivian government towards the implementation of Thilamale’ Bridge project.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, it was reported that the test piling component to assess quality of STO supplied concrete was proven to be successful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
