The Managing Director of State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) Mr. Ahmed Shareef cautions of possible utility bill hikes for the following three-month period.<\/p>\n
The STELCO front-man made the projection during an interview with Public Service Media’s (PSM) “Raajje Miadhu” program.<\/p>\n
Upon taking chair as STELCO’s honcho, Shareef began evaluating the billing procedure of the utility company for the last five-year period. He comments, of finding usage deductions from billed amount, a move, he says is done to reduce the final billed amount to the customer.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the issue, he also highlights a 22-day duration between the date of billing and its creation; which Shareef said creates backlogs in the procedure.<\/p>\n
Mr. Shareef made affirmations to drop the current billing approach in favor of real-time billing and avoid further backlogs.<\/p>\n
The real-time bills will reportedly accrue electricity usage in every 32-days, which Shareef cautions will increment the final billed amount.<\/p>\n
