{"id":4896,"date":"2022-12-21T15:18:57","date_gmt":"2022-12-21T10:18:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=4896"},"modified":"2022-12-21T15:18:57","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T10:18:57","slug":"via-records-over-2600-private-jet-landings-in-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=4896","title":{"rendered":"VIA records over 2,600 private jet landings in 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) confirms a total of 2,610 private jets landed in Velana International Airport (VIA) so far in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>As per MACL, this is a 53% increment when compared with the same period in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, air traffic movement by November 2022 saw a 10% increment when compared with the corresponding period in 2019. Total air traffic movement was recorded at 24,000 in 2019 and 27,000 in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, several major airlines commenced direct flight operations to Maldives, which contributed towards increment in air traffic movement. MACL also reported eight additional airlines began their operations ahead of tourism peak season which included British Airways, Air France, Australian Airways, Neos and Condor among others.<\/p>\n<p>British Airways, which operates to Maldives seasonally, is expected to launch regular daily flights in 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) confirms a total of 2,610 private jets landed in Velana International Airport (VIA) so far in 2022.
