{"id":5554,"date":"2023-03-16T07:09:32","date_gmt":"2023-03-16T02:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=5554"},"modified":"2023-03-16T07:09:32","modified_gmt":"2023-03-16T02:09:32","slug":"maldives-and-ghana-enhance-bilateral-cooperation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=5554","title":{"rendered":"Maldives and Ghana enhance bilateral cooperation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The governments of Maldives and Ghana signed two key agreements on Tuesday, 14th March, to further deepen the bilateral relationship between the countries.<\/p>\n<p>The countries signed to strengthen bilateral cooperation following the meeting between the Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid and Ghana&#8217;s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey at the sidelines of the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting, held in London.<\/p>\n<p>The agreements signed between the Maldives and Ghana are;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agreement on mutual exemption of visa requirements for their respective nationals<\/li>\n<li>Memorandum of understanding between the countries on political consultation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The agreements signed on Tuesday is a &#8220;step towards closer bilateral exchange&#8221; between the countries through period consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs in the Maldives and Ghana. Additionally, this cooperation will increase people-to-people contact facilitated through mutual exemption of visa, said the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The Maldives established diplomatic relations with Ghana on 10th August 1989.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The governments of Maldives and Ghana signed two key agreements on Tuesday, 14th March, to further deepen the bilateral relationship between the countries.
