{"id":5932,"date":"2023-04-24T11:46:27","date_gmt":"2023-04-24T06:46:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=5932"},"modified":"2023-04-24T11:46:27","modified_gmt":"2023-04-24T06:46:27","slug":"investor-interest-rises-for-maldives-tourism-cbre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=5932","title":{"rendered":"Investor interest rises for Maldives tourism; CBRE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis (CBRE) the world&#8217;s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm said the investor demand for the Maldives has been on the rise in light of surging tourist arrival numbers.<\/p>\n<p>CBRE has said that the destination&#8217;s demand among global investors were rising since the Maldives amended its Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>It further said that the country is identified as a top-tier tourism destination with potentially strong returns on investments in the hospitality industry.<\/p>\n<p>The firm also noted that Maldives was the fastest in tourism industry recovery after the Covid-19 global pandemic which had further increased investor interest. Moreover, the country&#8217;s priority towards environmental preservation, sustainable tourism, and enforcing investor safety are major reasons why investors are seeking opportunities in the Maldives.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, CBRE said that investors were beginning to show more interest towards Maldives compared to one of the most popular international tourism destinations in the Asian continent; Bali.<\/p>\n<p>CBRE&#8217;s Head of Residential Sales, Praphinleeya Phuengkhuankhan said that the Maldives is becoming a population destination among investors due to its unique geographical landscape.
