State Electric Company (STELCO) has awarded certificates to its employees for completing National Certificate III in Water Supply System Operation and Maintenance, and National Certificate III in Sewerage System Operation and Maintenance courses.<\/p>\n
STELCO executed the courses in collaboration with the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT).<\/p>\n
A total of 89 participants received Certificate of Completion, for completing their respective programs. From the total, 66 employees completed National Certificate III in Water Supply System Operation and Maintenance course, and the remaining 23 employees completed National Certificate III in Sewerage System Operation and Maintenance.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the courses, STELCO said that the primary aim was to provide Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) approved minimum qualifications to technical employees, and enhance the education and skill levels of them.<\/p>\n
The company’s Managing Director, Ahmed Shareef was quoted stating that STELCO was the most instrumental agency in utility services, and its technical prowess is unmatched.<\/p>\n
“It is one of our most important objectives to provide relevant, and latest knowledge and education to our staff. It is also one of the most prioritized visions of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to build academic, trained and skilled youth. This relates to STELCO’s attempts to realize the president’s vision,” said Shareef.<\/p>\n
“Water and sewerage our new utility areas for us, but we are second to none in providing electricity in the Maldives, and there is no one who will come close to beating us in providing electricity services in the country. There aren’t any who can compete our mechanical and electrical engineers in an equal footing,” he added.<\/p>\n
Shareef further urged STELCO employees to ensure utmost scrutiny in providing the company’s services to customers, and stressed the importance of refraining from any form of negligence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
