Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday, July 10, officially launched the one-stop portal for all government rendered services, “oneGov”.<\/p>\n
The ‘oneGov’ portal was developed by TradeNet Maldives as part of the current government’s Single Window initiative, and was completed within a two-year timeframe.<\/p>\n
The portal currently offers services provided by five government bodies which include the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure (MNPHI), Health Protection Agency (HPA), Ministry of Tourism, and the Fuvahmulah City Council.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the platform, its architect Shinaz Saeed noted that the concept for the portal was to create an inclusive platform that provides services from all government bodies from one spot. He noted that the portal can be accessed through the National Digital Identity Service ‘efaas’.<\/p>\n
He further said that TradeNet staff spent four weeks closely monitoring the services of each government body to understand their operational procedures. He noted that a total of 111 distinct services from the five authorities have been made available to the public through the platform.<\/p>\n
The user interface of the platform has been designed to resemble a Google-like search engine that allows its users to easily search and navigate through the services.<\/p>\n
‘oneGov’ aims to integrate the services of various government organizations into one place, which will eliminate the need for users to visit multiple websites or offices to acquire services.<\/p>\n
Shinaz also noted that the services from ‘oneGov’ will follow a standardized template, and instead of various signatories, the official documents generated from the portal will carry validity of a single government stamp.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
