Authentic Maldives, run under the Business Center Corporation (BCC), has announced that it will be expanding its corporate footprint with two new outlets opened outside the Greater Male’ region.<\/p>\n
BCC’s Head of Outreach, Ibrahim Ziyau confirmed that the corporation is committed to expand its footprint across the Maldives to allow local artisans and craftspeople to showcase and profit from their talent.<\/p>\n
Ziyau added that BCC was currently in the works to open two new outlets, one in Alifu Alifu atoll Thoddoo and the other in Noonu atoll Maafaru. Before these two, an Authentic Maldives outlet will be opened at the Gan International Airport.<\/p>\n
“Our first Authentic Maldives outlet will be opened in Gan International Airport. We are currently in the works to open an outlet in Maafaru and in Thoddoo as well. Tourist resorts are one of our primary targets, and while we have an outlet in Kuda Vilingili, we are trying to open more outlets in other resorts as well,” Ziyau said.<\/p>\n
BCC’s Chief Commercial Officer Samih Adam applauded the success of Authentic Maldives’ journey so far. He said that the near four-year project has been a successful initiative that has provided a genuine platform for local artisans to sell their work and generate a notable income from it.<\/p>\n
“We started with just 57 suppliers, but today that number has grown to over 260. Over the past years, we have disbursed over MVR 48 million from the revenue generated,” Samih said.<\/p>\n
The products sold at Authentic Maldives outlets are hot in demand, especially among the tourists. Additional to their popularity among travelers, the authentic local products are also appealing to the local consumers as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
