{"id":6564,"date":"2023-07-31T15:49:43","date_gmt":"2023-07-31T10:49:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=6564"},"modified":"2023-07-31T15:49:43","modified_gmt":"2023-07-31T10:49:43","slug":"china-becomes-third-strongest-source-market-to-maldives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=6564","title":{"rendered":"China becomes third strongest source market to Maldives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>China has become the third strongest source market to the Maldives.<\/p>\n<p>Following the reopening of its borders for outbound travels, China&#8217;s tourist market to the Maldives resumed earlier in January 2023 and quickly entered into the top 10 list of the source markets.<\/p>\n<p>While the Ministry of Tourism earlier anticipated the market to enter third position by early August, China has achieved the feat at least a week ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Statistics from the Ministry of Tourism confirm an arrival total of 91,555 tourists as of July 30.<\/p>\n<p>Russia is still leading the list with 126,504 annual arrivals with India closely following behind at second place with 122,375 arrivals.<\/p>\n<p>Previous third place holder, United Kingdom is now ranked fourth with 89,769 arrivals.<\/p>\n<p>Maldives has observed a year-to-date total of 1,070,765 tourists by the review date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>China has become the third strongest source market to the Maldives.
