{"id":6945,"date":"2023-09-26T15:00:24","date_gmt":"2023-09-26T10:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=6945"},"modified":"2023-09-26T15:00:24","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T10:00:24","slug":"mnphi-publishes-utf-land-use-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=6945","title":{"rendered":"MNPHI publishes UTF land-use plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) has publicized the land-use plan for Uthuru Thila Falhu (UTF).<\/p>\n<p>The plan illustrates the government&#8217;s plan for social housing projects in the zone. The state plans to issue and allocate housing units and land plots from UTF to citizens residing in Male&#8217; City for a duration of 20 years and more, or for individuals on Male&#8217; registry for the same duration.<\/p>\n<p>The plan comes under the government-initiated Binveriya Scheme&#8217;s second phase. Recipients of the first phase are already receiving their designated plots.<\/p>\n<p>State Minister of MNPHI Akram Kamaluddin said a total of 351 hectares of land will be reclaimed from UTF for the social housing project. The land area spans to 5.5 million square-feet, said Akram.<\/p>\n<p>Government announced its plans to allocate over 5,000 plots from UTF for residential purposes. The ministry also specified the eligibility criteria which requires individuals to be Maldivian citizens aged 18 years and above, and must not have been a recipient of a previous Binveriya scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants will be entitled to 1,250 square-feet plot if they apply individually. Joint applicants stand to receive additional 400 square-feet for each applicant. Joint application with more than seven applicants is entitled to receive 4,000 square-feet plots.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry also revealed another standard of eligibility for the housing flats under the Gedhoruveriya scheme, which is that the applicants should not have purchased a flat from a private developer and should not be receiving a monthly income exceeding MVR 60,000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) has publicized the land-use plan for Uthuru Thila Falhu (UTF).
