{"id":7039,"date":"2023-10-10T21:41:01","date_gmt":"2023-10-10T16:41:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=7039"},"modified":"2023-10-10T21:41:01","modified_gmt":"2023-10-10T16:41:01","slug":"kudagiri-lagoon-capsizing-vessel-ordered-to-remain-in-maldives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=7039","title":{"rendered":"Kudagiri lagoon capsizing vessel ordered to remain in Maldives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Maldives Civil Court has issued a prohibition of travel on a vessel that capsized on Kudagiri lagoon.<\/p>\n<p>AM MSV Mariya Sinthayathirai Riyana capsized on Kudagiri lagoon earlier in January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) moved ahead by imposing an MVR 3 million fine on the vessel&#8217;s proprietor.<\/p>\n<p>The agency filed a lawsuit in Civil Court after the vessel&#8217;s owner failed to pay the fine, additionally seeking a travel ban on the boat.<\/p>\n<p>Civil Court earlier on Friday, October 6, issued the travel ban order on the vessel and demanded it remained within Maldivian waters until the case concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The court&#8217;s order prohibits bringing any modifications to the vessel or creating any circumstances that will lead to a third-party ownership of it.<\/p>\n<p>EPA reported damages to an area of 130 square kilometers of Kudagiri lagoon resulting from the vessel&#8217;s capsizing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Maldives Civil Court has issued a prohibition of travel on a vessel that capsized on Kudagiri lagoon.
