{"id":7406,"date":"2023-11-14T13:20:48","date_gmt":"2023-11-14T08:20:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=7406"},"modified":"2023-11-14T13:20:48","modified_gmt":"2023-11-14T08:20:48","slug":"magoodhoo-airport-contracted-to-racl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=7406","title":{"rendered":"Magoodhoo Airport contracted to RACL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Maldives government has contracted operations of Faafu atoll Magoodhoo Airport to Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL).<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement by the Ministry of Finance contracted to RACL, all operational discretions have been transferred to the corporation.<\/p>\n<p>The outgoing President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had announced the decision to extend the runway from 1,200 meters to 1,800 meters at the airport, developed at a budget of MVR 230 million.<\/p>\n<p>RACL reported that the airport&#8217;s fire building and terminal structures have been completed, with finishing works remaining.<\/p>\n<p>Besides this, a special accommodation block is under plans to facilitate lodging for private jet crews.<\/p>\n<p>RACL further highlighted that a jet parking apron and a fuel farm would be developed by the end of 2024 first quarter.
