{"id":8876,"date":"2024-02-21T14:04:07","date_gmt":"2024-02-21T09:04:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=8876"},"modified":"2024-02-21T14:04:07","modified_gmt":"2024-02-21T09:04:07","slug":"maldives-sri-lanka-enter-agreement-to-enhance-cooperation-in-customs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=8876","title":{"rendered":"Maldives, Sri Lanka enter agreement to enhance cooperation in customs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Maldives Government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Sri Lankan Government on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 towards enhanced cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>The two governments have sealed the MoU laying &#8220;groundwork for enhanced cooperation&#8221; and mutual assistance in &#8220;customs matters&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The agreements were signed between Commission General of Customs of the Maldives Yoosuf Maniu and the Director General of Sri Lankan Customs Mr. P.B.S.C. Nonis at a ceremony held for the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>While the two countries have entered into agreement on strengthening cooperation on customs related matters, international carriers often reach Sri Lanka before berthing in the Maldives.
