{"id":8893,"date":"2024-02-19T10:45:51","date_gmt":"2024-02-19T05:45:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=8893"},"modified":"2024-02-19T10:45:51","modified_gmt":"2024-02-19T05:45:51","slug":"hanimaadhoo-intl-airports-new-apron-put-to-effective-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=8893","title":{"rendered":"Hanimaadhoo Int&#8217;l Airport&#8217;s new apron put to effective use"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has begun effective use of the new apron developed at Hanimaadhoo International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The new apron was officially put into the airport&#8217;s effective operations on February 18, 2024 with the landing of Maldivian Airline&#8217;s flight in morning.<\/p>\n<p>RACL Managing Director said the apron, while not part of the original developmental scope of the airport, was developed according to the instructions provided by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu; as a means of improving the airport&#8217;s revenue.<\/p>\n<p>The new apron will be marketed as a jet parking facility, while the area would be used as an isolation bay once the airport&#8217;s upgrading project concludes.<\/p>\n<p>The newly opened apron spans 42,000 square-feet in area with the capacity of accommodating 6 jet aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Once the entire upgrade project concludes, the airport will hold the capacity of accommodating larger commercial carriers including the A320s and Boeing 737s.
