{"id":9155,"date":"2024-04-13T11:43:45","date_gmt":"2024-04-13T06:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=9155"},"modified":"2024-04-13T11:43:45","modified_gmt":"2024-04-13T06:43:45","slug":"govt-contracts-chinas-camce-for-maritime-hub-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=9155","title":{"rendered":"Govt contracts China&#8217;s CAMCE for maritime hub project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Maldives government has contracted China&#8217;s CAMC Engineering for the development of an integrated maritime hub in Laamu atoll.<\/p>\n<p>The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday, between Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) CEO Mohamed Wajeeh and CAMC Engineering&#8217;s General Manager Lee Wei Wei. Subsequently, the contract for the development of the maritime hub was signed between the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib and Wei Wei.<\/p>\n<p>According to the government, the project will be carried out under six components. This includes;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offshore Bunkering<\/li>\n<li>Super-Yacht Marina<\/li>\n<li>Eco-Resort<\/li>\n<li>Transshipment Port<\/li>\n<li>Cruise Terminal<\/li>\n<li>Food Storage Facility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>MPL gave a presentation at the signing ceremony, which highlighted the cruise terminal will facilitate all the essential services of Maldives Customs and Maldives Immigration.
