{"id":9553,"date":"2024-05-29T19:11:22","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T14:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=9553"},"modified":"2024-05-29T19:11:22","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T14:11:22","slug":"visit-maldives-supports-weixin-pay-acceptance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=9553","title":{"rendered":"Visit Maldives supports Weixin Pay acceptance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC\/Visit Maldives) and Weixin Pay signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the recent ITB China 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU was signed between MMPRC Deputy Managing Director Zihuny Rasheed, and Weixin Pay&#8217;s Country Manager, Singapore and Regional Director, Southeast Asia Etienne Ng.<\/p>\n<p>With this arrangement, MMPRC pledges to support more Maldives merchants to accept payments made via Weixin Pay &#8211; aimed at enhancing convenience for Chinese tourists.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;China is a key source of tourists for the Maldives, and we greatly value the experience of Chinese visitors, Zihuny said and added, &#8220;We plan on promoting the acceptance of Weixin Pay throughout the country, offering Chinese tourists the payment option they were familiar with and prefer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9555\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9555\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9555\" src=\"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Weixin-Pay-02-300x178.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"355\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9555\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Visit Maldives<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Moreover, Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal expressed his support to the partnership, and said he was &#8220;Excited that we&#8217;re introducing Weixin Pay for Chinese visitors, which is another step in establishing Maldives as their top destination.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Weixin Pay is currently piloted at the country&#8217;s airport duty-free store, and restaurants like Sala Thai and City Garden. Besides this, a slew of tourist properties and hotels have chosen to support Weixin Pay acceptance in a bid to enhance payment options, and thereby attract Chinese tourists.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Weixin Pay is committed to providing users with safe and convenient payment services.
