{"id":9923,"date":"2024-07-15T15:11:24","date_gmt":"2024-07-15T10:11:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=9923"},"modified":"2024-07-15T15:11:24","modified_gmt":"2024-07-15T10:11:24","slug":"veteran-industry-expert-nominates-name-for-mifco-chiefs-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbt.mv\/?p=9923","title":{"rendered":"Veteran industry expert nominates name for MIFCO Chief&#8217;s position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran industry expert Athif Shakoor on Monday has nominated his name for the Chief Executive Officer position of Maldives Industries Fisheries Company (MIFCO) \u2013 the state-owned fisheries corporation.<\/p>\n<p>Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) \u2013 the regulatory body of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) \u2013 announced vacancy of the financially ailing MIFCO\u2019s chief executive position in June 26. The deadline for application submission expired at 14:00hrs on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>PCB, in its June 26 announcement said both local and foreigners who fit the criteria were eligible. The announcement further specified a remuneration between USD 9,500 and USD 12,000 (MVR 146,775 \u2013 MVR 185,400) for the position.<\/p>\n<p>Athif said he decided to apply for MIFCO\u2019s chief position to elevate the corporation\u2019s current conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the company operates devoid of politics, we can run it profitably.
