According to the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ibrahim Ameer, the Maldivian economy is expected to be the second fastest progressing economy in the world prospectively.
The minister stated that as per statistics from International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Maldivian economy will be the fourth fastest to progress in the future, whereas the ministry is hopeful that it will be the second fastest economy.
Moreover, Minister Ameer made the comments while talking about the progress made in the financial industry in the country over the last three years, as well as the planned future projects in the field for the upcoming years.
Furthermore, the minister attested that the strides made by the government in the financial industry is the result of sound policies by the state amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
