Ministry of Tourism has begun collecting data, containing information of individuals who have served in the tourism industry for more than 30 years.
In an announcement, the ministry requested public support in obtaining names, identities and other relevant information on such individuals. The ministry requires information on said individuals who have persisted in the field, have continue to remain in the industry.
Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Fathimath Nilfa said that the database initiative was a means to recognize the workers for their lengthy service. Their contributions are expected to be brought to public recognition at the Golden Jubilee anniversary of the Maldives tourism industry.
“We are working closely with the industry as well. Name submission was opened to the public to not miss out anymore. The names received from the public will also be included,” she said.
