The Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MNACI) has decided to discuss with Maldives government on the delays in its disbursements falling under the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP).
MNACI in a statement on Tuesday said that several contractors were owed payments by the government, for the developmental projects they handled – all executed under the PSIP initiative.
For the purpose of seeking dialogue with the government, MNACI has appointed a temporary committee which will be led by its Chairperson Ibrahim Muththalib, Vice Chairperson and Treasurer Hassan Habeeb, steering committee members Amjad Musthafa and Mohamed Jalaal Waheed, and MNACI Secretary General Adnan Haleem.
Maldives government has spent MVR 3.28 billion under PSIP as of June 24, 2024 while the state had spent MVR 5.64 billion under the program in the same period last year, statistics from Ministry of Finance revealed.
