Thursday, 12th August – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) confirmed on mobilizing team and equipment to Gaa Alif Dhaandhoo for the island’s shore protection and land reclamation project.
Moreover, the contractor had confirmed on mobilizing the equipment on 10th August, Tuesday of the current week.
The scope of work on the land reclamation and shore protection project involve dredging and reclamation operations spanning 25 hectares of area along with the construction of a rock-boulder revetment measuring 1,238 meters.
In addition to this, MTCC will be installing a 240-meter groyne as part of the shore protection structures. Meanwhile the project is estimated to cost MVR186.6 million.
