State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) announced that the corporation will be able to complete the upgrading works of Fulidhoo power distribution network before the end of January 2022.
Under the project, STELCO will reportedly install 1,807 meters of power cables under ground which will be utilized to expand the network.
Earlier, STELCO had installed a new STW300 generator in the island which is currently operational, incrementing the total power output capacity of Fulidhoo from 499 kiloWatts (kW) to 779 kiloWatts (kW).
The new STW class generators are manufactured and assembled under the supervision of STEWO, the utility provider corporation’s workshop division.
Moreover, the STW generator class currently has a total of three different models which include the STW300, STW600 and the STW800.
