Tourist arrivals to the Maldives in annual terms have reached over 1.28 million as of September 13, reports the Ministry of Tourism.
According to the ministry’s statistics, tourist arrivals in annual terms reached 1,282,031 as of the review date, which is a 13.8% increment compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
In the same period last year, tourist arrivals to the Maldives stood at a year-to-date total of 1,126,462.
The annual daily arrival average is at 5,008 with the average duration of stay in annual terms at 7.7 days.

A total of 172 tourist resorts with a combined bed capacity of 42,159 are operating right now. The tourism industry in the Maldives also features 14 hotels with 1,940 combined beds, 914 guesthouses with 14,974 beds, and 162 safari vessels with 3,181 beds.
The current total operational bed capacity of the Maldives from a total of 1,262 tourist properties is at 62,254.
