The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation on Tuesday has opened the grant application window for the EU Youth Empowerment Fund through the Global Youth Mobilization initiative.
The ministry said that grant applications will be accepted until July 21, and said the opportunity is part of the partnership between EU and the “Big Six Youth Organizations”.
The grant was established to empower youth and finance innovative local projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in enhancing community empowerment and strength.
The ministry also added that besides youths between ages of 14 and 30 being eligible, the program is also open for unofficial associations and registered youth organizations.
The fund was established under the partnership, which is dedicated to dismantling barriers to funding and providing crucial opportunities for mentoring, coaching, and capacity building.
The program also aims to ensure that marginalized and underrepresented communities have equitable access to resources. The program is also committed to engaging, empowering and mobilizing young people to address the most pressing global challenges.
Individual youths and unofficial associations can seek funding between EUR 500 and 1,500 while registered youth organizations can seek funds between EUR 3,000 and 5,000.
