With the 2026 FIFA World Cup just waiting for the kick-off whistle any given moment in June, the State Trading Organization (STO) General Trading has launched a promotion timed to one of the most-watched sporting events in the Maldives.

STO on Tuesday announced the “STO World Cup Foari” campaign with discounts up to 28% on selected TVs and projectors: perfect appliances ahead of the biggest sporting event in the world.

Football is personal for all Maldivians. It carries with it the stories and aspirations of a young nation that have been dreaming of its own World Cup glory someday. And while that dream will always remain strong, the craze amongst Maldivians for this beautiful game never wavered.

STO General Trading’s latest promotion is reflective of, and an endorsement of these strong and shared sentiments that hits close to home to every single Maldivian.

    Promotion Details

The promotion covers Phillips and LG televisions at the forefront. Additionally, InFocus Boxlight projectors are subject to massive discounts. Retail customers spending MVR 500 or more on any participating product will be entered into a draw. One lucky winner will receive a five-day trip to Malaysia for two.

Moreover, the promotion caters wholesale customers separately. According to STO, purchases exceeding MVR 3,000 per invoice earn a coupon entry. Wholesale customers are looking ahead at three prize tiers on offer:

    • First Place: MVR 30,000 worth of products
    • Second Place: MVR 20,000 worth
    • Third Place: MVR 10,000 worth

The promotion’s main attraction is of course, the Malaysian trip for two. Besides this, STO has built in weekly prize giveaways through World Cup-themed activities. The aim is simple: keeping the promotion active and the energy strong across the duration of the greatest sporting event of all time!

STO World Cup Foari runs until July 12, 2026. The promotion’s perks are available at STO People’s Choice in Malé, STO People’s Choice in Hulhumalé, and at regional outlets across the country.
