Tourist Arrivals to the Maldives have picked up since the start of July, according to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.

The latest figures show 22,636 tourists visited the country during the first four days of July. This marks a 1.5% increase over the 22,297 arrivals recorded during the same period last year.

Daily arrival numbers have also strengthened. The country averaged around 3,000 tourists per day last month, but the daily average has now climbed to roughly 5,000. Yesterday alone, a total of 6,434 tourists arrived in the Maldives; which is the strongest single day of the month so far.

    Daily Arrivals for July:

    • July 1st: 5,260 arrivals
    • July 2nd: 5,568 arrivals
    • July 3rd: 5,374 arrivals
    • July 4th: 6,434 arrivals

China remains the leading source market. So far this year, 174,201 Chinese tourists have visited the Maldives, giving the market a 16.3% share of the total arrivals.

Top Five Source Markets by Arrivals:

    • China: 174,201 arrivals
    • Russia: 154,198 arrivals
    • UK: 87,768 arrivals
    • Italy: 74,456 arrivals
    • Germany: 68,079 arrivals

By July 4, total arrivals for the year stood at 1,092,518. This represents a slight decline compared to the same period in 2025.

The Maldives government continues to work on sustaining the sector’s momentum. Industry experts say that with ongoing efforts to ease the challenges the sector faced from conflicts in the Middle East, the industry is positioned for significant growth in the upcoming months.
