MasterChef Sri Lanka will bring its competition to the Maldivian shores in a special episode, touted to feature the local cuisines juxtaposed with beautiful tropical sceneries.
According to Visit Maldives, Maldives will “take centre stage” on MasterChef Sri Lanka on October 5 at 22:00hrs on Maldives national television, TVM, with a special destination episode.
The special episode will feature Maldivian cuisine, culture and hospitality. This episode comes through the collaboration between Maldives Holiday Collections (MHC Group) and Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) as Official Destination Partner.
As Official Destination Partner, Visit Maldives supported the production as part of its efforts to diversify destination storytelling. VMC also hopes this episode will be yet another strategic collaboration to elevate the Maldivian destination in international markets.
Speaking on the collaboration, Abdulla Yasir, the CEO and Managing Director of VMC said, “The Maldives is recognized around the world for its islands, ocean and exceptional hospitality, but our food and culinary heritage offer another powerful way to tell the story of our destination.”
Yasir adds that MasterChef Sri Lanka gives the Maldives tourism promoter and the entire industry an exciting platform to take Maldivian flavors, culture and people behind them to a wider regional audience.
Ahmed Shaushaan Shafeeq, Managing Director of Maldives Holiday Collections said, “What viewers eventually see on screen is only a small part of what it takes to make a production of this scale happen.”
He adds that the episode is the culmination of months of coordination, logistics, customs clearances, construction and constant problem-solving.
Hifnaz Jiffrey, Group CEO of MHC Group said, “Food is one of the few truly global languages. Through MasterChef, we had an opportunity to showcase another side of the Maldives: our cuisine, our people, our hospitality and our ability to deliver world-class experiences.”
The MasterChef Sri Lanka’s special destination episode comes to fruition with the support of other collaborators. These include Nestlé Professional, Maggi Professional, Milo and Lily International as Official Food and Beverage Partners, CROSSROADS Maldives, The Marina, SAii Maldives Lagoon-Curio Collection by Hilton, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and SO/ Maldives as Official Hospitality Partners.
Visit Maldives Corporation signed on as the Official Destination Partner and Maldives Holiday Collections is the Exclusive Event Partner.
