    GST annual total reach MVR7.4bn, Business and Property Tax at MVR3.9bn

    Strongest revenue streams to the state include TGST, Import Duties, GGST among others

    Receipts from tourism industry are among the strongest revenue streams to the state--

    According to the most recent update from Ministry of Finance, Goods and Services Tax (GST) has reached an annual total of MVR7.4 billion, as of 13th October.

    The ministry made the confirmation on its most recent Weekly Fiscal Developments.

    On the other hand, Business and Property Tax has reached a collective total of MVR3.9 billion. Import Duties collected to the state is at MVR2.4 billion.

    The major tax revenue sources to the state, as of 13th October are;

    1. Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) – MVR5.1 billion
    2. Import Duties – MVR2.4 billion
    3. General Goods and Services Tax (GGST) – MVR2.3 billion
    4. Business Profit Tax (BPT) – MVR2.04 billion
    5. Green Tax – MVR764.0 million

    On the other hand, the major non-tax revenue categories to the state include;

    1. Rent from Resorts – MVRMVR1.49 billion
    2. Airport Development Fee – MVR627.9 million
    3. Registration and License Fees – MVR614.6 million
    4. SOE Dividends – MVR529.7 million
    5. Interests and Profits – MVR332.2 million
